Spring Break 2015

I am on Spring Break from my job as Intervention Math and Reading Specialist so you can guess what I've been doing.  Everyday I've been doing some kind of sewing or sewing prep to make as many quilts as possible before I go back to the kids.  Here's what I've accomplished:

And then on Friday I caught my grandbaby's cold and I haven't been able to do much more unfortunately.  Seven projects is pretty good though.

More Finishes

Here are 5 more quilts I've finished this month:

Red White Blue Bandana

All Red Bandana

Aqua Blue and pink
Mint and Gold Baby

Silk Pocket Squares
I am very proud of the last quilt .  The picture does not do it justice.  It looks like a royal robe with the silks.  It is made with 30 Gentleman's silk pocket squares.  Another variation of my Hanky/Memory quilt.

2015 Orders and Finishes

I came into the New Year with 23 custom quilt orders.  So far I have gotten 6 finished.

I wanted to show you the one I finished today.  This is a King size black and white rag quilt shown on a Queen size bed.  It's only partially cut and it has not been washed yet.  I was just so excited to have finished it,  took this picture:

Here are the others that I have finished.

I look forward sharing the rest of the quilts when I finish each, so be sure to check back.

My 2014 Quilting Year in Review

On the last day of the year I wanted to look back at all the quilts I made in 2014.  Last year I included just about everything I made but this year I am including only quilts, pillows, a set of fabric letters and an amazing set of fabric boxes depicting the 7 days of creation and 2 special dresses.

I made 13 minky blankets

15 T-shirt Quilts

17 Hanky Quilts

7 pillows

1 table runner
1 set of fabric letters
1 set of fabric boxes
1 Minky blanket set

10 Bandana Quilts

And 42 Rag Quilts

Plus I'm very proud of these two dresses I made for my grandbaby as well.

2014 was a good year for sewing!

Hankerchief Rag Quilts

I made my first Hanky Rag Quilt in 2011 and since then I have made a whole lot more.  Here are some of the quilts and pillows I have been honored to make using beloved hankies from my customers:
